web site contents for web sites for funerals

What your site might contain
Assembling a website that expresses your funeral home's spirit and community commitment is not unlike assembling a puzzle. It is a challenge that, done right, requires professional web designers and your expert input working hand in hand.
Only you know what there is about your funeral home that is exceptional. And it's that quality we attempt to build into your website.

Parts of the puzzle
A website is a collection of electronic pages, usually one page for one topic. Following are some of the pages you might want to be part of your website:

  • Home page
Your home page welcomes the visitor to your site. It usually contains a brief history of the funeral home including any pictures you might want to display. You might want to include a mission statement.
  • Staff page
    H
ere's where you can introduce your staff (with pictures) and mention their credentials.
  • Obituary page
This will be the most visited and required page of your website. The obituary page is the page that brings your community back to your website again and again. Here they'll also find times of visitation along with time and place of funeral service.
  • Preplanning page
The content of this form can be modifed to suit your wishes, but should gather the statistical data and special requests of the preplanner - anything from clothing to minister to music.
    Included should be
an online questionnaire that can be printed, filled out, and mailed to you.
  • Prepayment page
This page offers an opportunity to prepay for a funeral and explains why someone might choose to prepay.
  • Monuments page
Photos of the monuments you sell (and the price, if you want).
  • Churches
A list of area churches with addresses, pastors' names, and phone numbers.
  • Frequently asked questions
A few questions that you are asked on a regular basis. You provide the questions. This page can save you a lot of telephone time.
  • Online guest book
This page would allow friends to send messages of condolence to the family.
  • Links to grief websites
Links to web sites that offer comfort and guidance during times of grief or sadness. Some would be geared toward children coping with a loss, some toward parents who have lost a child, some toward widows or widowers, some toward what a friend can do to help someone who is grieving.
  • Memorial funds
Here are phone numbers and addresses for funds such as the Heart Association, Cancer Fund, etc.
  • Map
Map and directions to your funeral home.

The choice is yours
